Dr. Mark Leopold, DDS
Dr. Mark Leopold has been practicing general dentistry in San Luis Obispo with his partner (and brother-in-law) Nicholas Murphy, DDS, since 1976. After serving a tour in Vietnam, he attended Cuesta College and Cal Poly. He received his doctorate in dental surgery from the University of The Pacific in San Francisco. He continues to strengthen his skills by attending educational courses on a regular basis. He is an active member of the Seattle Study Club and the Central Coast Study Club. He has extended training in:

  • Temporal Mandibular Dysfunctions
  • Advanced cosmetic and full mouth re-habilitation with Pac-Live, University of The Pacific School of Dentistry
  • Advanced courses in occlusion with Dr. John Kois
  • Advanced training in implant restoration with Nobel Biocare Implant Systems

He holds membership in the local, state and national dental associations along with the Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry. Dr. Leopold and his wife, Christine, live in Avila Valley with their two children, Ian and Ashley. Ian is preparing for dental school and planning to join the practice in the future.

Dr. Nicholas Murphy, DDS
Dr. Murphy was born and raised in SLO, attended Mission School, Cuesta College and Cal Poly. He received his doctorate in dental surgery from the University of California, San Francisco and has been practicing dentistry in SLO since 1976. Dr. Murphy has 3 children and 2 grandsons. Dr. Murphy's daughter, Adria is a ceramist for the practice. Dr. Murphy has had extensive postgraduate training in cosmetic dentistry and dental rehabilitation. Dr. Murphy has also participated in a 2-year postgraduate course in Temporal Mandibular Disorders (TMJ).

Dr. Craig Main, DDS
Dr. Craig Main completed his undergraduate degree in Biology at the University of California, Santa Barbara, and his DDS at Loma Linda University School of Dentistry. He and his family returned to the central coast in 2003 to join the practice of Mark Leopold and Nicholas Murphy. Dr. Main's dedication to excellence in dentistry is evident by his commitment to continuing education. He has undergone extensive continuing education in the area of endondontics to enable him to provide state of the art care in root canal treatment. He is also an associated member of the American Association of Endodontists. He is a certified Invisalign provider and has received extensive training on occlusion at UCLA. Dr. Main also holds memberships in the California Dental Association, the American Dental Association, and the Academy of General Dentists. He has also participated in the Seattle Study Club, and has taken continuing education in the area of Orthodontics. Dr. Main also values state of the art technology and is very grateful that he has been given the opportunity to practice with two excellent clinicians in a state of the art facility.
